Facing Your Fears
Capstone Installation
RECEIVED FAMILY PERRY AWARD FROM UNL'S SCHOOL OF ART, ART HISTORY AND DESIGN
For my senior design capstone, I created, designed and installed 'Facing Your Fears' for our final showcase that was held in UNL's Union. The idea for my capstone came to me when I realized how often my fears hold me back in my life... and how it can be true for others around me. My goal for the show was to find a way to visually show people's similarities in their fears so they could feel less alone and more comfortable. Through a semester of research and production, I gathered a list of 100 people's top fears and depicted them in my designs. The interactive Spectrum of Fears sticker wall was a success and allowed viewers to compare and reflect on their own fears among other people's answers .
My show received an award from the School of Art History and Design and I'm extremely proud as I was able to create a compelling designed and interactive installation that my family and friends could experience and reflect on.
